As I wind down my last couple of week of college, I have begun the job search process. I have utilized many sites to assist in this search, such as Glassdoor, Indeed, Ziprecruiter, etc. While these sites are great for general job postings, they aren’t as interactive as LinkedIn. Additionally, these other sites are relatively vague in the position they’re offering, the pay ranges they can offer, and daily tasks required in that role. LinkedIn is very clear about the tasks required in the position, the salary that employee is able to offer, and they provide the hiring teams LinkedIn accounts, allowing applicants to make a meaningful impression other than a physical copy of their resume. Another feature that is useful for the job searching process process is the ability to put you are open for work on your account. Putting this on your account allows recruiters to be made aware you’re currently in the process of finding a job. Since adding this to my account, approximately one month ago, it has lead to many recruiters reaching out via LinkedIn direct messages to set up interviews, allowing them to get a better understanding if I would be a good fit for the position. I implore those who are currently on the job hunt to utilize this tool on LinkedIn, as the job searching process can be frustrating, the tools offered on the site make the process as seamless as possible.

Below you can see the open to work function on LinkedIn, allowing applicants to be more visible to recruiters looking to fill roles that align with your previous experiences.
